‘Xian has a beautiful old town that is surrounded by a moat. Draw-bridges connect the old town with its surrounding. Inspired by the history of Xian, our design for an event space is defined by fold-able elements that either connect or separate visitors with the building.’
The design can be transformed by folding elements. On the facade, those elements shows publicly whether the space is open or not. Doors are folding down to connect the ‘surrounding’ with the building.
The interior of the buildingis divided in 3 spaces. A bar area, a restaurant area and a center event space with a gallery. The interior is also defined by folding doors which can combine the 3 spaces into one connected area for lectures or exhibitions.
